Breakfast
at the Glenelly
Breakfast is my favorite part of being an innkeeper. I
LOVE breakfast and I love creating food that will please
my guests. I am your chef each and every morning (unless
I am on a rare vacation, in which case Estebana or Rosa
recreate my recipes for you). I want you to remember your
breakfast here, so please help me to help you do that!

Breakfast is generally served at 9 a.m., however, with
notice, we can have our full breakfast available to you
any time between 8:30 and 10:00 a.m.
If you require
something earlier (otherwise we encourage you
to come for breakfast, it's fun!), we can have a continental
breakast tray to you in the Common Room by 7:30 a.m.;
or can pack a "breakfast to go" which will include
protein (hard boiled eggs or cheese), fresh fruit (oranges
and something else seasonal), granola bars, yogurt and
some Glenelly baked goodies, available as early as 7 a.m.
(or waiting for you in the guest fridge if you need it
before that).
Please just arrange this in advance (when you check in,
if not before)!
Dietary restrictions?
I take it as a personal, enjoyable challenge to create
something delicious that will work with your particular
dietary challenges.
If you are vegetarian, meat is always served on the side
here so you don't need to worry.
If you are allergic, please let me know. For example,
I do not always include nuts or fish in my breakfast items,
but do sometimes if no one has informed me of a particular
allergy.
Some well-received items have included Gluten Free Lavender
Corn Muffins, or Berry Smothered Biscuits; Dairy Free
Omelettes (either whole eggs or just whites) with Fresh
Seasonal Vegetables; Kashi Grains cooked with Apple Cider,
Dried Cranberries and Apples from our garden.
Traveling with children?
Sometimes our regular breakfast is not appealing to young
children, and while I encourage them to try everything,
we also have some more kid-friendly options available.
Besides our normal cereal and oatmeal, I enjoy providing
those fun little assorted boxes of cereal for them to
choose from and small apple juice cans. We also have a
special kid's menu - again, please let us know in advance
(the night before)!
Pancakes, plain or with blueberries or chocolate chips,
served with butter and maple syrup.
Waffles with butter and maple syrup, or Norwegian style
with strawberry jam & whipped cream
Scrambled eggs and toast or toasted English muffin, served
with butter & jam
